Miss Sohvi is beginning to enjoy her time in the ring, and we are really pleased with how she is going.  She already has points on the board toward her title, and she is beginning to really settle into the ring scene! Sohvi's colouring is developing well and her remarkable spectacles are really very prominent.  We think that she is already a stunning girl. 

Sohvi and Bear will be at the Adelaide Royal in September, so if you see us there come and say hello (and get a Lappie cuddle!!)

NEWSFLASH!!!

16.06.10 - Those lovely chunky puppies at Watersedge are doing well!  This record litter is the offspring of Sire Aus Ch Janoby All About Aslann (BOB winner Sydney Royal 2010) and Watersedge Aus Ch Watersedge Tru Destiny (IID) HT, also known as Janna.  There are 4 boys and 5 girls, colours are all black, tan and whites with the exception (in what must be a run now), 1 rare domino(click here for the link!).Puppies are all healthy, happy and doing new born puppy things and we will post up news and pics when we get them.  In the meantime if you are interested in this special litter, which is PRA clear and has all health testing done, contact Watersedge directly.

UPDATE Planned Litter 2010 - Taigakoira is planning a litter for late 2010 between Aust Ch Janoby All About Aslann (see pic below!) and our gorgeous girl, Tasha (pictured left).   All Taigakoira puppies will be PRA clear by parentage, and be microchipped, vaccinated, vet checked and registered with the Victorian Canine Association (VCA).  Puppies will be raised in a typical family environment, come with their own puppy pack (which includes pedigree and breed information) and we provide on-going breeder support for the life of your Lappie. 

Taigakoira Kennels is a registered kennel and breeder with the Victorian Canine Association.  We are also members of the Master Dog Breeders Association which has a strict Code of Conduct and ethics requirements, and are active members in the Finnish Lapphund Club of Victoria. Our dogs are important members of our family and we will only breed to improve the breed. Health, conformation and temperament are all equally important factors for us and we take the ethics of what we do very seriously.

Best Puppy of Breed at Sydney Royal 2010 - Watersedge Secret Agent

Sydney Royal 2010.  A massive congratulations to Janoby and Watersedge kennels on their wins at the Sydney Royal last week.  Our good friends at Janoby won Best of Breed with Aust Ch Janoby All About Aslann (Aslann) then followed up with the Bitch Challenge win with Aust Ch Janoby All About Aurora (Roara).  Watersedge Secret Agent (Larry), bred by Melissa Waters in QLD and owned by Janoby Kennels, then came out and took Best Puppy of Breed.

The best part is that is was a real family affair! Aslann and Roara are littermates and Larry is from Roara.  Aurora is also Bear and Tasha's dam, and Larry is a half brother, so it was great to see them do so well!

Making it even more special, the Judge, Mrs N Karlsdotter, is a Swedish Judge who has judged Finnish and Swedish Lapphund specialities in both Finland and Sweden.  It was great to have these dogs recognised by a Judge who is so well versed in the breed. 

Taigakoira shares the celebrations with our friends and while Bear had modest success with second in his class (congratulations to Armahani Amethyst Armo) we hope that next time we are at a Royal we'll do better! 

Regardless of the outcomes we were delighted to share in the excitment of the show and meeting all of the lovely NSW Lappie people who were there was great.   Hopefully we shall see a similarly large entry of Lappies at the Melbourne Royal in September!
